The Welcome Drinks are being held at the Griffith Film School at South Bank. This should make it a good central meeting point for people coming from the conference venue at The University of Queensland, St Lucia campus, from the city, and surrounding suburbs.

Join us to enjoy drinks and nibbles while you meet old friends and make new ones from the OzCHI community.

The Griffith Film School is housed in the heritage-listed former South Brisbane Library. Griffith Film School is a media production college that is part of Griffith University, and they have kindly offered to host our welcome event in their building. It is located at 472 Stanley Street, South Brisbane, adjacent to the South Bank precinct (see Map).

It is easy to get from the University of Queensland campus to Griffith Film School by catching the route 66 bus from UQ Lakes station, getting off at Mater Hill station which is a 5 minute walk from the venue.

The OzCHI 2024 Conference Dinner will be held in the Rivershed at the Howard Smith Wharves. This venue is located right on the Brisbane River, at the edge of the city centre, and provides magnificent views over the river. The Rivershed has both an indoor open space and an outdoor deck. The event will be cocktail style, so you have the opportunity to move around and chat with people. There will also be a paella station and a gelato cart for dessert. We are doing our best to cater for dietary requirements, so please let the wait staff know if you have registered with this.

So, please come join us from 6-9pm for inclusive food and drinks (a selection of wines, beers, non-alcoholic beer and soft drinks).

HSW is located beneath the Story Bridge in the historic wharves precinct. Easiest access to the venue is via CityCat from any of the ferry terminals all the way from UQ St Lucia to South Bank and Riverside in the City. The Rivershed is adjacent to the Howard Smith Wharves ferry terminal. Alternatively, you can take car/taxi/share to 5 Boundary Street, Brisbane, where there is a designated pick-up and drop-off zone; it is also a nice walk from Brisbane CBD along the river (see Map).
